Backgrounds is an app for the iPod Touch and the iPhone, and is available in the app store free of charge. The app allows you to download HD backgrounds for your lock screen. You can also upload your own backgrounds if you wish. The backgrounds are resized to fit the screen so all you have to do is click save.
When you launch the app you are greeted with four recent backgrounds in the middle of the screen, two back and forth arrows on the bottom, a search button on the top so you can look for any backgrounds in particular, and three other buttons on the top. You have the Popular button, which will let you see top downloads and what people like. Next is Recent, you are greeted with this tab opened to show you what’s new. Finally you have Category; this tab will let you choose between several of categories like, Movies, Cars, Funny, Animals, and Sunsets, just to name a few. There are four backgrounds on the screen as you look through them, clicking the background will enlarge the image and from there you can save it. The photo then will go into your Photos “Saved Photos” album.

This is a great app for anyone who finds themselves having to change backgrounds all the time because they get tired of that same image. I am definitely one of those people so I find this very useful. There are tons of backgrounds to choose from and for what I have used the app it has been flawless. I give Backgrounds a 5/5. Great App!

Have you ever wanted to check the news, see what movies are showing, or check the weather? Well, with an app for the iPhone/iPod Touch, you can do it all and more, easily and freely!

The Pocket Express has 9 main features. They are news, sports, weather, finance, entertainment, movies, travel, horoscopes, and caller assist. Then there’s the usual share and feedback.
When you first download the Pocket Express, you have to agree to the license agreement. After you agree, you are brought to the home screen called “Page One“. This is where you choose your feature. Most of the features are pretty self explanatory. News lets you see local and national news, Sports lets you see scores, live RSS Feeds for that team/sport, and sometimes a small video. Weather lets you see weather in week, day, or hour view, and also has radar. Finance shows the stocks for companies. Entertainment lets you see what movies are in theaters. Movies gives you a selection of movies from different sites. It also lets you see movies based on TV. Travel lets you see flight delays and things related to that. Horoscopes is simple; it shows your horoscope! Assist gives you things like phone directories and basic caller assist.

I shop online, not as much as in stores but I do from time to time. Sometimes you can find better deals on products if you buy them online, even with shipping and handling. Here are some websites I shop at mostly for electronics. Some of the websites you don’t even have to pay taxes, but only in some states. You may know some of them and others you might not, but keep them in mind when shopping online.
eBay
Amazon
Buy
New egg
Think Geek
Bhphotovideo
Planet Online
Tigerdirect
Crutchfield
So, if you are looking looking for any electronics to buy online check out the links above. Especially now for the holiday season they will have some good prices. Don’t forget to order earlier because you never know how long it will take to ship, unless you pay more for fast shipping.

Today I created a Salty Tech toolbar which you can download here. This toolbar will work with Internet Explorer, Firefox and I believe Opera as well. I am not sure about Safari because I have not yet tried. If you use Safari please leave a comment letting me know if it works or not. The toolbar will offer a few features like The Google Search, RSS Reader, A Live Chat, Weather, and a Mail Checker. Any of the features can be disabled through the Options, which you can access by clicking the little arrow by the logo on the left of the toolbar. You can also install additional “Gadgets” which can be accessed through the same little arrow on the left of the toolbar.
I hope you enjoy this toolbar and please send me some feedback by either sending me an e-mail at contact@saltytech.com or commenting on this post. Thanks a lot and please download!

Here is just a sneak peek of Windows 7 and some of its features. I really want to see how this will turn out, hopefully better than Vista and I might check it out. Of course I will wait for some reviews and see what the public thinks before I purchase it. So here we go:

First off, is the taskbar. The taskbar in Windows 7 now has icons only, instead of an icon and text. You can also move and organize the icons. This way, if you restart your application(s), they won’t appear in a jumbled order. Also, if you have more than one window for an application, it will show background images behind it. Moving your mouse over any icon previews a thumbnail of the window(s) that are being used in that application. Clicking on one of the thumbnails will open that window. If you were to right-click on the icon, it would have a menu for that application/icon, kind of like what Stacks in Leopard does. Microsoft named this “Jump Lists”.
I will let you guys know if there is any more news on Windows 7 and if I buy it when it comes out I will do a full review of the Operating System. Thanks for Reading!
