My Top 5 Apps

Posted by AppleMitch2008 on January 22, 2009 at 17:42 pm

As the app store has recently passed the 500,000,000 apps downloaded, i thought it would be good to share with you my top 5 apps that i myself have downloaded for the app store.

5. Backgrounds.
This is a great app for anyone who gets bored easily of there wallpaper and likes to change it around once a week, or even once a day.It has a huge selection of wallpapers that will appeal to you. With categories such as; Cars, movies, funny, nature, fantasy, music, animals, technology and so many more, you will always find a wallpaper to suit your mood. This is a free app and is highly recommended.

4. Inside Xbox
This app is for people who have an Xbox live account and like to view there own or friends Gamerscores, view what games your friends are playing, and view peoples profiles. Anyone familiar with the new Xbox experience knows that the cover flow-like interface is amazing, for Inside Xbox, this has been made smaller, and is really just a mini version of the dashboard. It’s great fun to play around with, and i definitely recommend it to anyone with Xbox live.

3. Tap Tap Revenge
For Those not familiar with tap tap revenge, it is the iPhone/iPod touch equivalent to Guitar Hero. There is 3 colours and notes coming at you. To get points, just tap the correct colour notes as they are passing the line. With a ton of downloadable songs, its easy to see why it’s one of the most downloaded apps from the App store. You also have the option to play online, and there is a leaderboard per song too. This app is free, but could easily be worth $5. If you dont already have this, Get it now!

2. Ustream.tv
This is a brand new app to the app store, but already a highly downloaded one. It allows people to watch Ustream shows Live or Recorded on there iPhone or iPod Touch. These streams are usually in High quality for such a portable device. Built in is a search button, so you can search for your favourite broadcasters. A great app and i also use it everyday.

1. Twitterrific
Now this is my favourite app for a few reasons. I am an avid twitter user and i use this about 10 times a day for checking and sending tweets. if you’re a twitter user, i definitely recommend this app. The interface is simple but great, not much else i can say, except an amazing app!

Macworld 2009: Predictions

Posted by AppleMitch2008 on January 5, 2009 at 19:40 pm

So, the holidays are drawing to a close and school has started up for most schools again. So lets face it. Not much to look forward to yet..except tomorrow’s Macworld event. Held in San Francisco, CA, the event happens once a year, and is home to all things Apple. A few shocks arose this year as Pre-Macworld announcements indicated two suprises to Apple users and fans. One is that Steve Jobs will NOT be presenting the famous Keynote to announce new and upgraded Macs, but instead Apple worker Phil Schiller will be presenting and the second is although Macworld is based heavily upon Apple, it was announced in Mid-december that this will be apple’s last appearence at Macworld. So with all things aside, everyone is looking forward to tomorrow’s (today in the UK) event, including me. So here are my predictions for Macworld 2009.

The iPhone Nano
The iPhone nano has been a rumour on everyone’s lips since the release of the new iPod’s in early september. I think the iPhone nano will have the same features as the current iPhone 3G, but will be a bit smaller, and available in more colours than just black and white. what everyone would also like to see is a drop in price!

End of the Mac Mini/ Updated Mac Mini
This is one that has been going around since last year. It is rumoured that the Mac Mini is either going to stop shipping or it’s getting a SERIOUS update. The Mac Mini is years overdue for a Re-design and if this product is not finished, then i think they will change the colour scheme to match the current Macbooks, Macbook Pro’s, cinema displays and the iMac’s.

Mac OS X 10.6 ‘Snow Leopard’
This prediction is so strong, i’m almost certain about it. This is a Must have for this years Macworld keynote as users are dying for it to be annouced. It’s said that snow leopard will include Multi touch functionality and more. Surely it cant be a bigger jump from Tiger to Leopard witch seen +300 new features added, but no doubt this will be great.

So, what are your predictions do you agree or disagree with mine? Leave a comment bellow.
