I haven’t written a blog post in so long, I’ve just been really busy lately. But anyway I am going do a review of an application of the iPod Touch and iPhone called “Ambiance”. It’s a simple app that helps you focus/relax/fall asleep by listening to relaxing looping sounds such as Rain, Campfire, Rain Forest, and much, much more. This app has become one of my favorites, I have been using it so much and you will see why in a little bit. The application has received many updates since it was released; I’ve owned the app from when it was first launched however I haven’t used it much at all before. The app was very simple and basic when it came out but now the GUI has been updated and it looks wonderful, not only that but there are many new sounds that are added constantly, and you are notified when they are added with push notifications. To add sounds to your Ambiance library just browse or search for sounds. Then preview them and if you like to download the
sound. Then you can listen to it whenever.
There is a timer feature which is really nice so you don’t waste energy. So when you are going to bed you play the sound, turn the timer on, set the time you want the sound to stop playing and finally sleep and let Ambiance do the rest.
I like to plug my iPod Touch in my iHome speaker dock and relax to all of the wonderful sounds in this app. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep, so at night I use this app to fall asleep easier and faster, and my iPod charges at the same time (because I use the iHome). Overall I think this is a wonderful application that easily earns a 5/5. I find myself using it all the time and at the $0.99 price point, you just can’t beat it. If you are unsure if this is the right app for you there is a lite version that’s free, so try it out and decide for yourself.

I first tried out the Lite version of GloBall and really liked it, the game only came with a few levels which are very easy. I was hooked and so I purchased the full version of GloBall, which has 43 levels in total. However that’s still not enough because the game play is quite easy.
When you launch the app you are greeted with a nice and simple menu with 3 options to choose from. Play, Levels, and Options. Play is self explanatory, you start playing from where you left off, in the Levels menu you can look through your score on each level and how you rank with players around you. And finally options allows you to view saved scores, reset game, help, turn sound on/off, and choose if you would like to post your scores to the world.
Your goal is to break all the bricks in the level and avoid the enemies, simple! You will also find different power ups through out the game to help you break the bricks faster or get more points. The game play is good but sometimes I find it not too precise when trying to break a single brick.
Overall the game is really addictive and, however it’s too short and a bit too easy. Those are the only two things I don’t like about this app. I think it deserves a 4/5 for only $0.99 in the App Store!

Today I am here to review an app from the App store. This app is called “myHomework”. It is quite a simple yet useful app for anyone who needs a better way to write down their homework (or unless you don’t even write it down!). myHomework allows you to create classes, set the start and end time, set the days of the week, and more. Everything is put into a simple layout that makes it look like your typing on a notepad! Also, on the icon in your iPod/iPhone’s home screen, it will show any upcoming or late assignments. You can change the icon shows in and more in the preferences. On the bottom of the screen, there are three sticky notes. One for the homework list, one for classes, and one for preferences. Each has simple interface and is easy to read.
myHomework is a GREAT app. Especially if you are a person who writes down homework but doesn’t read it. The best part is, it’s FREE!
myHomework is avalable on the app store, free, here

Sorry I haven’t written a post lately but i’ve been busy with stuff. Anyways, I’m here to review an app called The iBall (Free).
This app has a pretty bad rating on the app store, although I think that’s only because it is quite simple. The iBall basically tells your future (like the magic 8 ball). You ask it a question, shake it, and it will give you an answer. You can also choose between six different responses: Classic, Zen, Weird, WWJD, New Years Resolutions, or Programming Languages. There is also eight different styles. There is the iBall’s style (crystal ball), gold bling, smiley face, eye ball, black ball, santa, ball-o-lantern, and full-screen mode. I like this app, even if the ratings deny it. It’s a pretty cool fortune teller! I have screen shots located at here.

The Ustream Viewing App has just been released in the App Store and is available for download right now! The app allows you to watch Ustream Live Streams. The application is only available for the iPhone and iPod Touch 2G which to me and other iPod Touch 1G users is very disappointing. You can watch the video in full screen in landscape mode or, watch and chat in portrait mode. I will not be able to use this app because like I said I have an iPod Touch 1G but I am sure one of the writers will review the app. If you have an iPod Touch 2G or an iPhone then be sure to download this app. It is free so you have nothing to lose.
UPDATE: I have just installed the Ustream Viewing App on my 1st gen iPod Touch! Thank you Ustream. I will do a full review of the app soon, so stay tuned!

Fring is a great app for the iPod Touch and the iPhone. What the app allows you to do is connect to your Skype, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, AIM, and Twitter, just to name a few. This is the only app I have seen that can connect to your Skype. It works great, and the best part is the app FREE!

There are many apps that allow you to chat with your friends on your iPod Touch or iPhone but what’s special about this one is its ability to have voice chats. This will work great for iPhone users but if you want to call from your iPod Touch you will need to buy the new iPod earphones that have a microphone on the cable. The price is the still $30 with the microphone. I might be getting them soon myself!
Overall the app is a great buy. It does what it says it does, and personally I haven’t had a single problem with it. That’s why I give Fring a 5 out of 5! Go ahead and buy it if you need a portable voice chat app, you have nothing to loose.
